Rome is a living breathing museum - ancient ruins, glorious piazzas, and more history than your brain can even process. One minute you’re standing in front of the Colosseum imagining gladiators, the next you’re tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain with hundreds of hopefuls. (It'd be rude not to!)

And speaking of hoping… let me tell you about the time I spent over an hour wandering the streets trying to find the Capuchin Crypts. Finally, in defeat, I plonked myself outside a bar, ordered a Peroni (because when in Rome you may as well console yourself Italian-style)… and there it was. Literally right across the road. Classic. At least I was well hydrated for the visit.

Creepy? Absolutely. Fascinating? 100%. You have got to visit them, nothing like a good hard reminder of your own mortality while on holiday eh?
